Production

Experience and competence have fostered a customer-oriented know-how, able to meet market requirements thus maintaining an excellent standard of quality and high degree of flexibility. The production capacity is one of Deltacalor's strong points: a capacity able to turn out a high number of parts with highly automated systems to meet the various degrees of customizing demanded by the market.

The manufacturing process entails the following phases:

Preparation of the material.
The material - tubes and headers – is cut automatically by N/C machines down to tolerances of 0.01 mm.

Assembly.
The tubes and headers are inspected one-by-one to ensure correct surface finish. After passing the visual inspection, they are assembled with the aid of special templates which ensure an exact fit, therefore ready for welding.

Welding.
Two welding processes are employed depending on the product: brazing with copper paste and new generation controlled atmosphere furnace and cooling chambers for the BASIC line; projection welding for all modular radiators of FLY, HEGO23, CONCEPT type, etc...

All radiators are tested in tanks where they are immersed in water at a pressure of 9 bar, in order to guarantee an operating pressure of 6 bar (even if they will be used at a pressure around 1.5 bar.

Phosphating-degreasing at 50°C.
The products are submitted to a cleaning and degreasing treatment based on aqueous solutions containing ortho-phosphoric acid, delivered by spray nozzles at a temperature of 50°C.

Epoxy powder coating.

After washing and drying, the part is ready for epoxy coating, which is performed an a fully automatic carousel type plant with 8 robotized spray guns. The coating plant is also provided with a paint spray booth for coating parts with RAL colours other than the standard ones (RAL 9010-9016).

Curing at 180°-220°C.
This is the phase where the product is placed in the hot air curing furnace at a controlled temperature between 180°-220°C..

Ambient air cooling.

Packaging.

The coated radiator is hot shrink wrapped with micro-perforated polyethylene sheet which protects the product from any type of friction during transport. This allows its installation at the worksite protecting the product from risk of damage. Then double-walled corrugated cardboard is wrapped around the entire outside surface (screen-printed, triple-walled corrugated cardboard for Stendy and HIT range) which ensures intactness of the product under any condition.
